1.introduction1.1 research backgroundtem-8 is an important test to test the english level of english majors and an important indicator to measure the teaching quality of english majors in colleges and universities. in the process of writing, students often encounter the situation that they don't know how to write or the article is illogical and piles of errors, resulting in low scores. the verb object collocation error in tem-8 writing is a major obstacle in the writing process and a typical one of many error types. this paper will mainly explore the impact of verb object collocation errors on tem-8 students' english writing and the problems encountered in second language writing from the analysis of verb object collocation errors in tem-8 writing, point out the common problems combined with the teaching practice, and put forward the corresponding solutions. writing is not only an important part of tem-8, but also the weakness of chinese students. the author has conducted a questionnaire survey on the preparation of english majors for the tem-8 of junior college, and found that most students feel that the writing part is a difficult and volatile point. communicative teaching method holds that the ultimate purpose of language learning is communication, and the means of communication are speaking and writing. through writing, we can not only measure students' surface language elements such as vocabulary, grammar and usage, but also measure students' deep language levels such as expression ability, analysis ability, organization ability and logical reasoning ability. compared with other types of tests, writing tests are more significant in detecting students' real language level, so writing tests need to be paid attention to a certain extent. this paper analyzes the validity of the writing test of tem-8 in recent five years, finds that the writing test of tem-8 is regular and feasible, and gives some suggestions to the subjects of tem-8. the syllabus for english majors in colleges and universities puts forward clear requirements for writing, requiring students to "be able to write articles with various questions, so as to achieve rich content, smooth language, appropriate words and proper expression. they are required to have clear ideas, rich content and smooth language". through the error analysis of verb object collocation, students can be aware of the process of writing errors, so as to have a better understanding of the text characteristics and error analysis and correction of writing.1.2 need of the studythe thesis has both practical and academic meanings. firstly, this thesis is of strong practical significance. with the continuous improvement and perfection of tem-8 examination system and test types, writing accounts for a large part of the scores. the level of writing performance is very important for students to pass tem-8. through the analysis of verb object collocation errors in tem-8 writing, we can find out the reasons why students are easy to lose scores in the process of writing and the methods to improve. although students may encounter more than verb object collocation errors in the process of writing, verb object collocation, as a typical error in writing, is also a common mistake made by students. therefore, taking verb object collocation as an example can better reflect students' real grammar level and their proficiency in vocabulary, so that students can find out the root causes of writing score loss and the defects and deficiencies in writing and improve them. therefore, it is necessary to analyze and correct the verb object collocation errors in the writing of tem-8.secondly, the thesis is of academic significance. at present, there are many researches on the error analysis of tem-8 writing in china, but there are deficiencies in the error analysis of verb object collocation, and there is still room for further research. therefore, it is necessary for this paper to explore verb-object collocation errors in tem-8 writing.1.3 research purposesthis paper aims to explore the verb-object collocation errors in tem-8 writing. the research of this thesis is based on the database of writing correction network, focusing on verb object collocation, analyzing students' writing error prone points and writing score loss, and extending the research on the role and influence of mother tongue on the process of second language writing, as well as the relationship between verb object collocation and lexicography. this paper will explore the following three questions: (1) what are the types of verb-object collocation errors in tem-8? (2) what are the reasons that account for verb-object collocation errors? (3) how to improve efl learners writing level in tem-8 in terms of verb-object collocation?2. literature review2.1 domestic researchin recent years, a batch of researches on tem-8 writing emerged in china. lin (2006) put forward the single ability hypothesis, holding that people's ability to use language is a single and indivisible whole. language testing should not separate language into discrete test sites, but combine them and test them in the form of comprehensive test sites. li (1997) deeply discussed the question type of language knowledge, and put forward a theoretical framework for the study of test site validity from the aspects of test site level, test site factors and test site coverage. zhang and wang (2018) have conducted relevant research on the reliability and validity of language knowledge in tem-8 according to this theoretical framework. li (2012) reveals the research on language knowledge test questions of tem-8 has a positive reference significance for english teaching and students to deal with language knowledge test questions and improve their language application ability. however, according to the results of the unified test of english majors at the senior stage released by the teaching and testing office of foreign language majors in colleges and universities, the national average passing rate of tem-8 in 2007-2019 was only 34.96% - 47%, of which the score of language knowledge was between 1.79-5.13, while the national average score of language knowledge in 2019 was lowest, only 1.79. this reality shows that there is still a need for in-depth research on the test questions of tem-8 and the teaching strategies of english majors.these studies have analyzed the analysis of verb object collocation errors in tem-8 writing from many angles. most studies have comprehensively analyzed the causes of verb object collocation errors affecting writing from many specific aspects, mainly from the aspects of language, vocabulary, semantics and context. many scholars emphasize the importance of verb object collocation error analysis through the relationship between mother tongue and second language writing, and the influence of semantic context on verb object collocation vocabulary.2.2 foreign researchwhite and alan (2009) studied learners do not acquire the subtle differences between second language and native language vocabulary knowledge; it is easy to confuse the two vocabulary systems, especially the mixing of collocations. justin (2012) revealed second language learning, learners are used to using second language words to correspond to words with similar meanings in their mother tongue vocabulary. however, in this case of similar semantics, the differences in vocabulary collocation are easy to be ignored, and these differences are the difficulty of acquiring these words and an important standard to test learners' writing level. karl (2007) studied some sentences have errors in verb object collocation. the reason is not only the semantic understanding error, but mainly because the students simply copied the usage information of words in english to the translated words, and did not form a comprehensive understanding of the usage differences between the second language and the mother tongue to the translated words. the vocabulary knowledge systems of the two languages are mixed together and do not form an independent language vocabulary system. therefore, even though the verb object structure is the most basic syntactic structure in all languages, foreign students will make relatively simple verb object collocation errors in the process of acquisition. it can be seen that the difficulty for learners to acquire vocabulary is not the understanding of semantics, but the mastery of vocabulary usage and the understanding of the corresponding relationship between the second language and the mother tongue vocabulary system. researchers have explored the l2 writing stages of second language vocabulary acquisition, but their views are different. hatch and brown (2019) regard the continuous use of vocabulary and syntax as a series of cognitive and syntactic features, so as to gradually establish a series of linguistic features. henriksen (2019) believe that writing acquisition is a revolving and increasing process, that is, to integrate new entry information into the existing framework, and learners' knowledge and ability to use knowledge are spiraling.2.3 research gapfrom what has been discussed above, it can be seen that existing studies at home and abroad mostly employ macro or case analysis, using text reading for systematic research. from the perspective of research, the existing research mainly studies the verb object collocation errors in second language writing from the perspective of logic, mother tongue and second language relationship, and rarely from the aspects of lexicography and linguistics. from the research content, the existing research mainly involves vocabulary, grammar, verb object collocation and so on.in order to better explore the error analysis of verb object collocation in the writing of tem-8, this paper will explore it from the perspective of lexicography and the method of text close reading. tem-8 writing is an important part for passing tem-8. it embodies students' writing ability and level from all aspects. therefore, it is necessary for researchers to study verb object collocation error analysis on the basis of english special tem-8 writing.referenceshatch, l. 专八写作,上海:上海交通大学出版社。

2. 研究的基本内容、问题解决措施及方案

This paper mainly discussed the following research problems: (1) what are the types of verb-object collocation errors in TEM-8? (2) what are the reasons that account for verb-object collocation errors? (3) how to improve EFL learners writing level in TEM-8 in terms of verb-object collocation?The first research problem is explored mainly through a combination of text analysis, quantitative research and qualitative research. The specific approach is the computer search and manual selection way to sort out the verb-object collection errors. The second research problem is explored mainly by combining text analysis, quantitative research, and questionnaire. The specific approach is to classify the required corpora by manual classification, and analyze these aspects of different corpora, analyze the relationship and influence between mother tongue and L2 writing.
